KIWIANIS CLUB OF PARIS NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 13, 2017 Contacts: Barbara Bergdolt 217-822-4680 Brian Blair 217-202-5001 brian@feutzcontractors .com Annual Honeybee Festival Set for September 22-24 The Kiwanis-sponsored portion of the 37th annual Honeybee Festival will kick off Friday, September 22 and continue through Sunday, the 24th in downtown Paris with a variety of free entertainment, the annual pancake tent, a parade, and free kids’ inflatables. Starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, the 22nd, the Kiwanis Club of Paris annual pancake tent will be serving pancakes, sausage, and drinks until 1 p.m. on the north side of the square. In addition, beginning at 9 a.m., sidewalk sales and craft and food vendors will be open for business until 5 p.m. On Friday evening the Coon Holler Kids, an area bluegrass group, will perform at 6:30 p.m., followed by the popular Battle Creek Country band at 7:30. All entertainment at the festival is free to the public and will take place on the south side of the square. Entertainment is sponsored by Prospect Bank (formerly Edgar County Bank), First Bank & Trust, Peoples Bank & Trust, First Neighbor Bank, and Longview Bank & Trust. Saturday will again feature the pancake tent from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Business and vendor sales will continue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and children’s inflatables and other activities will be available on the north side of the square from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Honeybee Festival Parade will start at 11 a.m. and continue along Main Street and Central Ave. Saturday afternoon and evening will be filled with free family-friendly live music following the parade. Entertainment includes the following: the Jake Hoult Band at noon, Trouble & Company at 1:30, The Fabulous Hoedads at 2:45, Frantic Utopia at 4:15, and Double Vision at 5:30. Sound will be provided by Moonlight Entertainment. Downtown craft and food vendors will continue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the square on Sunday, the 24th. The traditional Paris Ministerial Fellowship worship service will be held this year at 10:15 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church on West Court Street. The downtown portion of the Honeybee Festival is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Paris and its Honeybee Committee. Proceeds help to support many area children’s activities and scholarships.
